Women Who Stay
Women Who Stay explores the lives of women whose worlds have been shaped by migration, despite never crossing a border themselves. Through photography and reporting in Mexico, India, Ethiopia, Senegal, Romania, and Slovakia, the project documents women whose husbands, sons, fathers, and partners have left in search of work, safety, or opportunity. Their stories reveal how migration extends far beyond those who move, reshaping families, communities, and daily life in ways that often go unseen. By focusing on those who remain, the project offers a more complete portrait of migration and the quiet resilience of the people who live in its wake.
