On the Verge of Silence

On the Verge of Silence explores the relationship between Indigenous languages and biodiversity in Oaxaca, Mexico. Through photography and reporting, the project documents communities whose languages carry generations of ecological knowledge, from medicinal plants and traditional agriculture to relationships with forests, animals, and the land itself. As Indigenous languages disappear, the project asks what else is being lost with them, revealing how cultural and biological diversity are deeply intertwined.
